Seton Hill Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday with Education Program and Community Service
Education Program, “The Dream: Past, Present, and Future,” Thursday, January 31
Seton Hill students, faculty and staff will participate in an educational program from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in Seton Hill’s Cecilian Hall featuring a video presentation of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Following the presentation students will share the ways they might influence the future of race relations by eliminating discrimination and prejudice and furthering Dr. King’s dream of a just community.
“Take the Day On” Day of Community Service, Saturday, February 2
In keeping with Dr. King’s commitment to community service, Seton Hill University annually coordinates the “Take the Day On” day of volunteer service in his honor. This year, Seton Hill faculty, staff and students will be volunteering at local service sites that include Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, the Greater Pittsburgh Produce to People, Seton Hill's St. Joseph chapel, and the Christian Layman Store.
