The retreat, which coincides with the June intensive residency for students of Seton Hill’s master’s program in Writing Popular Fiction, features presentations by authors, editors and agents, and also offers writers the opportunity to participate in writing workshops with other writers and pitch sessions with agents and editors. Scheduled to participate in “In Your Write Mind” are Michael Bracken, an award-winning writer of fiction and non-fiction who also provides editorial services to book and periodical publishers, and Jennifer Jackson, a literary agent with the Donald Maas Agency in New York. Also participating in “In Your Write Mind” will be Elaine Ervin (SHU 06), romance author; Ron Edison (SHU 06), mystery, fantasy and comedy author; Carmine DeYoung (SHU 73, WPF 01), children’s literature author; Heidi Miller (SHU 07), science fiction and travel author; Patrick Picciarelli (SHU 01) crime fiction author; Shelley Bates (SHU 02), romance and young adult author; Sally Bosco (SHU 03), young adult horror author; and Diana Botsford (SHU 06), film and television writer and producer.

On Saturday, June 23 Seton Hill’s Writing Popular Fiction program is proud to present a free, public lecture by science fiction author Catherine Asaro. Asaro – who holds a PhD in Chemical Physics from Harvard – is the author of 16 novels that blend hard science with adventure and romance. Asaro’s presentation will be held at 7 p.m. in Cecilian Hall on Seton Hill’s Greensburg, Pa. campus.
