Admission Process & Requirements

Seton Hill is accredited to accept a maximum of 13 students into the Integrated Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics Program, so the earlier you apply the better!

Three Different Ways to Enroll

You can enroll in Seton Hill's Integrated Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics Program as a:

• First-year Student
• Postbaccalaureate Student
• Transfer Student

If you've already completed undergraduate work, you may be able to enroll directly into the Master's Phase of the program.

First-Year Students

High school students (or students applying to college for the first time) must submit all of the following items:

• A Seton Hill University application
• Official high school transcripts
• Official SAT or ACT scores (If you have been unable to take your ACT or SAT due to the pandemic, this program follows the guidelines of the University's Test-Optional policy, with the exception that a GPA of 3.2 is required.) 

To qualify for the Integrated Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics, you must have a:

• Minimum SAT score of 1030 (sum of math and critical reading components) OR minimum ACT score of 20
• Minimum high school GPA of 3.2

If you are accepted into the program you will begin as an undergraduate nutrition science major, with your seat in the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Program reserved and guaranteed as long as you maintain a 3.0 GPA overall and in the major.

Transfer & Postbaccalaureate Students

Transfer and postbaccalaureate students applying to the Integrated Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics Program must submit all of the following items:

• A Seton Hill University application
• Official transcripts from all colleges attended
• Official high school SAT or ACT scores (if available)

To be considered for admission into the you must have a:

• Minimum overall college GPA of 3.0
• Minimum college GPA of 3.0 in courses that would count towards the dietetics major

Nutrition and Dietetics Program faculty will assess each transfer and postbaccalaureate application on an individual basis.

Costs

Phase I: B.S. in Nutrition Science

Tuition and housing costs associated with the undergraduate phase of the program can be found here.

A few courses require lab fees. These will be noted on the Course Schedule.

Phase II: M.S. in Nutrition & Dietetics

Supervised practice opportunities that are required to become a registered dietitian involve additional expenses beyond tuition, books and lab fees during this phase. Students are required to have:

• Health insurance

• Physical examinations (with up to date immunizations) 

• Transportation to and from supervised practice sites (located between 2 and 99 miles from Seton Hill’s main campus)

• Professional liability insurance (costing approximately $40 for two years) 

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance 

• Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check 

• FBI Criminal History Background Check
